The PGMA team was pleased to attend the Scottish Grocers' Federation (SGF) Annual Conference 2025 on October 1st in Glasgow. The event, themed "Valuing our Sector, Confronting the Challenges", was an essential gathering for gaining insight and connecting with industry peers.
A major highlight of the day was the powerful keynote address delivered by Kate Forbes MSP, Deputy First Minister of the Scottish Government. Her speech offered valuable government perspectives on the economic pressures and regulatory changes impacting local retailers.
The business sessions, including the Retailer Panel, directly tackled the theme by exploring sector resilience, rising costs, and the importance of local convenience stores maintaining essential community services.
The Trade Exhibition provided PGMA with an excellent opportunity to connect directly with members and partners. We reviewed a wide range of new products and services, observing the latest market trends and innovative solutions being adopted by suppliers.
Our attendance successfully reinforced PGMA’s commitment to supporting the Scottish grocery industry. We look forward to translating the knowledge and connections made at the SGF Conference into direct value for our membership in the year ahead.
